Local civilians have been struggling to rebuild their lives and communities after the costly and violent invasion and subsequent occupation of the Sochi region by NATO forces. NATO's victory has turned to ashes as their occupation government and its western NGOs struggle to deliver on their promises of security, liberty and prosperity.

Russian forces, after being forced to retreat from the region during the spring offensive have begun to slowly infiltrate the region with special forces and deniable mercenary units. Local leaders compete with each other, NATO, and Russian forces for power over the rich farmlands and warm water ports in the Sochi region.
